Christmas storage solutions

Are you sure you got the room to spare inside?…

At this time of year, we’re making plans to see family and friends and to spend time together at home. But to echo the immortal words of Slade, it can raise questions about space and storage!

Christmas storage solutions

We specialise in looking at space imaginatively. Our cabinet makers are true craftsmen who have applied their skills to busy homes across the South East, creating innovative storage and beautiful cabinetry, that comes into its own at this time of year.

Around the kitchen table

The informality (and convenience) of kitchen dining is increasingly popular. As well as cabinetry, we can also design and hand build bespoke furniture for your home.

Sometimes it can be difficult to find an off-the-shelf table that will fit the space that you have. We can create a beautiful piece that will make the most of your space, to be used and treasured by the family for years to come.

Never enough cupboard space…

It can feel like that, especially when stocking up on extra food and drink for entertaining. We are experts at making the most of every square inch of space.

By looking with fresh eyes, we see the potential to use space that could otherwise be wasted. We consider height, breadth and depth to find ways to combine functionality with practicality – to ensure that cabinetry, cooking and dining surfaces are multi-purpose wherever possible.

Floor to ceiling cabinets, under-island storage and cupboards above the double ovens all contribute to ensuring this kitchen has a place for everything. Read more about this kitchen.

Bespoke wine storage

A dedicated space to store wine and drinks is something that we are increasingly being asked to design for our customers.

From a full wall of wine racks to more unconventional designs, we are always inspired to find creative ways to make the most of your space, and create a standout feature in your home.

For our customers in West Kingsdown, we created twin wine stores in their dining area, with warm oak shelving and in-built technology to ensure that their wine is kept at the perfect temperature and condition. Read more about this project.

This understairs wine storage creates a modern, innovative twist on a wine cellar, plus it’s a beautiful and unique feature for this home that comes into its own on festive occasions.

Kitchen bars

Bespoke bars are becoming a sought-after aspect of modern kitchen design. Whether subtly hidden behind retractable pocket doors, or a focal point with ambient lighting, there are many ways to ensure your guests are always in the kitchen at parties!

For this kitchen, we designed custom-built wine storage to surround the central bar to match the kitchen cabinetry. Further storage and the wine fridge sit under an elegant quartz countertop.

Here, the wine storage, drinks and glasses are hidden behind retractable pocket doors, to be revealed on social occasions so that the mirrored back can enhance the feeling of light and space.

However, if space is more limited, cabinetry can be cleverly designed to incorporate wine racks and space for glasses and drinks

Wine refrigeration

Incorporating a wine cooler gives another option for drinks storage that not only frees up space in your fridge, it keeps your wine at the perfect temperature.

Wine coolers can be adjusted to create different temperature zones, according to the wine and how it should be served.

We supply Miele, Fisher and Paykel, Siemens and Liebherr wine coolers, and they are available to see for yourself at our spacious showroom.

Empty larder days…

A larder, or pantry, cupboard is a great addition to a busy kitchen. They can be free standing or hidden seamlessly within a run of cupboards.

Above all, it is so convenient to store groceries all in one place. Especially at this time of year when there seems to be constant stocking up for guests and entertaining!

Larder cupboards can be configured in several ways to combine shelving and drawers for maximum usability.

A cool shelf (often marble) is a popular addition not only to keep the larder at an ambient temperature, but also to provide extra worktop space for smaller appliances and kitchen essentials.

New heights

A great way to make the most of available storage space is to make use of height. It’s possible to achieve striking and stylish results by varying the height of cabinetry in one wall space to break up the eyeline and create interest.

In this mid-century inspired kitchen, full-height, white gloss, flat panel cabinet doors contrast perfectly with the natural oak Shaker wall units with reeded glass doors. Read more about this kitchen.

Hidden depths

Adapting cabinetry beneath work surfaces or casual dining areas such as breakfast bars and islands is another excellent way to increase storage space. These can be great places to stow away those items that aren’t used every day, but come into their own at certain times of year.

For this modern kitchen in Beckenham, the wide drawers at one side of the island house bespoke cutlery drawers and ample space for crockery and cooking utensils. Read more about this kitchen.

Appliances that make life easier

BORA cooktops

BORA cooktops give you advanced induction cooking with integrated extraction that draws cooking vapours and odours directly from the pan.

The extractor is near silent and the cooktop offers lots of space for large pans – ideal for the busy Christmas cooking period. Plus, they look fantastic – especially with both the high-gloss and Rough finishes now available across the BORA Pure range.

BORA X BO Steam Oven

The BORA X BO cleverly combines a steamer and a conventional oven in one. It can roast and bake food, plus it can also steam it.

The steam and heat functions can be used together or separately depending on the dish to ensure the best possible results.

BORA Multi-Drawer

From slow cooking and heating up, to warming plates and safe defrosting – the BORA Multi-Drawer is a kitchen innovation with many features that make life easier at this time of year!

BORA fridges and freezers

The BORA Cool and Freeze range brings their pioneering technology to fridges and freezers.

Enhanced space, convenience, ergonomics and, above all, freshness, are at the heart of their designs.

Miele steam combi oven

With the Miele steam combi oven, steam and heat work in harmony to give you perfect results.

By combining the moisture of steam and the dry heat of a conventional oven, outstanding roasting and baking results can be achieved – perfect for impressing your guests!

Miele Warming Drawer

The Miele warming drawer enables precise low-temperature cooking, and helps keep hot food table-ready, without it drying out – extremely helpful, especially at Christmas!

Quooker taps

Quooker taps give you instant boiling, hot and cold water from a single tap, and because you only use what you need, they help to reduce waste and energy consumption.

When combined with pull-out flexible hoses and their range of stylish designs, Quooker taps are becoming a kitchen staple.

Plus, by adding a Quooker CUBE, their functionality extends to cooled filtered and sparkling water too, which is particularly useful for entertaining.

Bespoke media units

Home entertainment is a big part of family life for many households. At Christmas, getting cosy in front of a festive film is an absolute joy.

A bespoke media unit can become a fantastic storage solution. We can tailor the design to your specifications, and tie in the style with your existing cabinetry and décor to create a seamless look.

For customers in Tunbridge Wells, we built a bank of stunning cabinetry across an entire wall to house media appliances, a home bar, beautifully lit treasured possessions, along with a spectacular radiance electric fire.

This feature media unit is part of a kitchen renovation for our Beckenham customers and completes the family-orientated, social space.

Tailor-made furniture

Handmade, bespoke furniture that is perfectly suited to your home and your requirements is a real benefit for day to day living.

It is especially useful for times such as Christmas, when there’s a greater need for storage and space.

Bespoke furniture is always well-proportioned and made to measure exactly.

Plus, when it’s built-in, there is no wasted space and it will instantly become a seamless part of your home.

Utility heaven

If you’re lucky enough to have space for a utility room, you know what a useful and functional space they can be – particularly if they are well planned and the available space is made the most of.

Utility rooms can take the pressure of valuable kitchen space when used for white goods and additional storage – especially at busy times of year! They can also include well-designed, purpose built spaces to air laundry and store boots and shoes.

A warm welcome

A hallway can easily become cluttered, particularly when welcoming guests who are wrapped up for the cold weather.

We have designed and built beautiful cabinetry in many hallways to provide a calm and well-organised welcome.
