About our handmade Edenbridge kitchens
A bespoke kitchen is a pleasure to use for the long-term – designed for the way you want to live, cook and entertain, and to complement your unique taste. Bespoke kitchens are always a perfect fit, even if you have wonky walls or awkward corners. We endeavour to maximise functionality and add special touches unique to you and your home. Because they are made to last, you can expect a lifetime of enjoyment from a handmade kitchen.
We use traditional methods, which have been gained from over 100 years’ shared expertise in cabinet making. Our craftmanship is supported by state-of-the art machinery, to ensure a perfect outcome for you. Each member of our team puts you first. We believe that our success comes from honesty, integrity and hard work – values that are shared by everyone in our business.
We tend to use a melamine faced MDF material from FINSA, or sometimes plywood in the construction of our cabinet carcasses, for their strength and durability. We use solid timber, typically oak or walnut, for our drawer boxes, with traditional dovetail joints.
The choice of material for doors varies according to our customers’ personal choice. We might use Finsa Fibrapan Hidrofugo Plus for a contemporary shaker style door for its strength and moisture-resistance, or ash for a classic painted shaker door. Natural oak is popular for a more traditional design, or high-gloss acrylic for a streamlined, minimalist look.
We are committed to greener, cleaner working practices. We prioritise using timber from certified forests and all the wood we use comes from responsibly managed woodlands, certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, or from recycled material. We do not use any timbers listed by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species.
At our showroom we have solar panels fitted and an electric car charging point. Sustainability is also a focus at our workshop, where we have a specialist wood burning stove to burn waste timber and MDF while heating the workshop.
The cost of a bespoke, handmade kitchen depends on the space, design, unique specifications and materials. It is certainly more expensive than a ready-made ‘off the shelf’ kitchen, but bespoke kitchens are a true investment. They are built to last and will give you a lifetime of enjoyment. As a guide; a small kitchen will cost from £50,000, rising to over £70,000 for larger spaces.
