A truly inspiring shaker kitchen in Oxted
Our Oxted clients asked us to design and hand-build a sleek and smart kitchen that would hold its own within their expansive, vaulted space, framed by exposed oak beams.
The outcome is truly spectacular – an elegant shaker kitchen that stands tall in their open-plan living room – giving our clients everything they hoped for and more.
Handmade for unique spaces
Part of this project was removing our clients’ existing kitchen and preparing everything for the new installation.
With character properties, the spirit level often doesn’t always play ball!
The beautiful exposed beams in this Oxted property combined with awkward alcoves, made it a challenging but hugely satisfying project.

Shaker – the enduring classic
Shaker kitchens are incredibly versatile – designed well, they are equally at home in a contemporary space as they are in period homes.
Shaker kitchens are synonymous with symmetrical design combined with simple, classic central panels framed with horizontal ‘rails’ and vertical ‘stiles’.

For this distinguished property in Oxted, the iconic shaker cabinetry is the perfect choice.
The classic design is completed with moulded cornicing, adding to the sense of height and grandeur, whilst still sitting perfectly within its surroundings.
The cabinetry is painted to match the subtle tones of Zoffany Cobblestone and Quarter Harbour Grey.
The cabinetry handles are from Armac Martin’s Cotswold collection, with drawer pulls and knobs in satin nickel plate.
Natural elements
This Oxted shaker kitchen features a sleek, understated Shaws of Darwen undermounted sink, crafted from fireclay.
The spacious island is clad in a generous 70mm of Caesarstone’s London Grey quartz. It offers a flexible space for everyday use, cooking, entertaining, and casual dining.
The thick quartz makes the island feel grounded in its space – prominent but balanced with the height of the vaulted, beamed ceiling.
The island incorporates a flush-mounted BORA X Pure cooktop with built-in extraction. Its minimalist design brings subtlety to this state-of-the-art addition.
Chef and butler pantries
One of the main requirements for this Oxted shaker kitchen was plenty of practical, efficient storage space, which would ensure an uncluttered aesthetic.
So, this lovely kitchen has the luxury of both a chef’s pantry for cooking ingredients, and a butler’s pantry to keep small appliances neatly stowed away.

Appliances to make like easier
Our Oxted clients selected from our Miele range to give them a suite of advanced appliances to enhance their day-to-day life.
Their shaker kitchen incorporates the Miele combi microwave oven, single oven, plus built-in fridge and freezer.
They also opted for the Miele Pureline warming drawer, which offers a variety of helpful functions including the additional convenience of low-temperature cooking.

Bespoke details that make the difference
This beautiful kitchen features a host of unique details that make it entirely personal to our Oxted clients.
These bespoke elements include painted glass display units and spacious side units with bevelled mirror glazing, which provide the perfect home for glassware.
