We tend to use a melamine faced MDF material from FINSA, or sometimes plywood for our cabinet carcasses for their strength and durability. We use solid timber, usually oak or walnut, for our drawer boxes, complete with traditional dovetail joints.
The choice of door materials varies according to each customer’s preference. We might use Finsa Fibrapan Hidrofugo Plus for a modern shaker door for its resilience and moisture-resistance, or ash for a classic painted shaker door. Natural oak is often used for more traditional designs, or high-gloss acrylic for a sleek, contemporary look.
The cost of a handmade Kent kitchen depends on your space, the required design and the materials chosen. It will certainly cost more than a ready-made ‘off the shelf’ kitchen, but bespoke kitchens are a great investment. They are built to last and will give you a lifetime of pleasure.
