When constructing our cabinet carcasses, we tend to use a melamine faced MDF material from Finsa, or sometimes plywood. These materials provide both strength and durability. Solid timber, such as oak or walnut, is used in the construction of our drawer boxes, with traditional dovetail joints. The choice of the material for cabinet doors varies according to each customer’s personal taste. As an example, we might use Finsa Fibrapan Hidrofugo Plus for a contemporary shaker style door for its strength and moisture-resistance, or ash for a classic painted shaker door. Natural oak is popular for a more traditional aesthetic, or high-gloss acrylic for an understated, contemporary look.
