In the construction of our cabinet carcasses, we tend to use a melamine faced MDF material from FInsa, or sometimes plywood, because of the strength and durability they offer. Solid timber, typically oak or walnut, is used for our drawer boxes, with traditional dovetail joints. With doors, the choice of material varies according to each customer’s taste. For example, we might use Finsa Fibrapan Hidrofugo Plus for a contemporary shaker style door for its strength and moisture-resistance, or ash for a classic painted shaker door. Natural oak is popular for a more traditional look, or high-gloss acrylic for a slick, contemporary style.
