A bedroom and dressing room of dreams in Tonbridge

This was the second transformative project that we undertook in our clients’ home in Tonbridge.

Having inherited the standard ‘developer’ furniture that was neither practical nor appealing for them, our brief was to design and build cabinetry that would not only improve their living space, but provide the perfect solutions for their lifestyle.

A state-of-the-art home office with innovative functionality was the first project we completed. This was followed by a master bedroom and dressing room that are the stuff of dreams.

Master bedroom, Tonbridge

A bright, open dressing room

As you’d expect, top of the list for the dressing room was plenty of storage, but this needed to be carefully balanced with the feeling of light and space, which was also very important to our clients. This was quite a challenge as the size of the space was fairly limited.

Open units constructed in hardwearing MFC (Melamine Faced Chipboard) provide simple, clean lines. These, contrasted with warm oak shelves and drawers provide the perfect combination to achieve the bright, open feeling.

The drawers sit flush with the surrounding cabinetry, their minimal detailing along with recessed handles increase the feeling of simplicity and space.

Dressing room

The dressing table is cleverly built into the cabinetry and incorporated into the open shelving units either side, ensuring a seamless transition between them. Wide drawers are subtly included within the table, along with accessible power below.

Plenty of open shelves continue the clean lines of the dressing room and enable special accessories to be showcased as well as providing flexible storage.

Tailored storage

Drawer space can be tailored to individual requirements with solid wood drawer dividers.

For our clients in Tonbridge, part of their brief was a drawer to organise their belts. The result is smart, functional and, above all, a pleasure to use.

Drawer to organise belts

New bedroom furniture brings a wonderful opportunity to get organised.

Many of our clients use their refreshed living space as the catalyst for a declutter and tidy, to ensure they get the most from their handmade cabinetry. Some even use enviable methods of folding and storing their clothes – Marie Kondo style!

Bespoke bedroom drawers

Reflected light, hidden depths

For their master bedroom, our clients chose our latticed mirror doors in ‘Valentina’ design, painted to match Farrow & Ball’s ‘Dimpse’. The mirrored doors reflect the light and augment the feeling of space. The Lancaster oak carcass and drawers give a warm and inviting contrast inside.

Every section of the full-height wardrobes is configured differently, according to the clients specific needs, ensuing that every inch of space works for them.
