To be progressive, you must be open-minded, inquisitive and question the norm.
Willi Bruckbauer, Founder of BORA
In questioning the norm, Willi Bruckbauer was able to invent an extraction system for kitchen vapours that is not only extremely effective with its use of cutting-edge technology. From a design perspective it has been revolutionary.
2006 saw the patent registration for the BORA Professional – the first cooktop extractor system of its kind. 15 years later, they continue to be innovation leaders in this area and we are proud to showcase their range of trend-setting BORA hobs.
The open-plan revolution
Design trends come and go, but one thing is for sure – open-plan living is here to stay. Whether it is kitchen diner or rooms that combine cooking and eating with children’s play or relaxation, our clients come to us with varied briefs on how they want their space to work for them and their families.
One of the historical drawbacks of cooking in an open-plan environment is cooking odours. These can be a consideration for soft furnishings and clothing and of course for guests if they come for dinner and leave smelling of fried onions! Effective extractor systems are therefore an essential component of kitchen design.
Head-height extractor systems can be more limiting to design and also present a visual obstacle, especially for the cook who wants to engage with guests or family. They also require adequate space.
BORA’s innovative solutions for kitchen vapour extraction have changed all this.
Downward trend
BORA’s range of cooktop extraction systems draw vapour and odours away at source, before they have a chance to permeate the air. Grease is also removed and trapped in charcoal filters.
From a design perspective, the cooktop extractor enables a seamless profile for countertops, enhancing the feeling of space.
This means that the end result is not only clean from an aesthetic point of view, the system itself is very easy to keep clean and working to its optimum.
Style and substance
The BORA cooktop and extractor fit flush into the countertop, which gives a subtle and elegant profile.
With some models, the control panel is virtually invisible when not in use and, while cooking’s in progress, intelligent lighting controls the brightness. Intuitive controls are a popular feature, with a simple swipe or tap enabling the required adjustment.
Temperature controls are high precision and the extractor can automatically adjust to respond to the cooking conditions.
One of the most valued aspects of BORA extractor technology is how quiet it is. The joy of open-plan kitchen dining is being able to chat and socialise whilst the cooking is in progress, the BORA extractor certainly won’t get in the way!
