Quooker: the ultimate green tap

Quooker is not only forward thinking when it comes to stylish, versatile design – they are also at the forefront of sustainability, energy-saving and making positive changes on a global scale.

With a Quooker tap you’ll save both water and energy, whilst the beautifully designed taps themselves are made from sustainable materials that will stand the test of time – great for your household and the planet.

Here we share the many ways that Quooker are making a positive difference.

Water and energy savings: instant boiling and hot water

Quooker taps are renowned for supplying instant boiling water on demand. But did you know that their technology needs very little power to keep the water at boiling point?

The tank consumes just 10 watts, which is the equivalent of two LED light bulbsSo, there’s no need to waste energy by over-filling and boiling more water than you need in a kettle, which can use up to 3,000 watts (approximately 0.11 kWh) to heat 1 litre of water.

With a COMBI+ tank, you can save even more energy, as the tank supplies both boiling and unlimited hot water, so you’ll never have to waste water whilst waiting for it to heat up. The Quooker COMBI+ tank can save your household up to 3,000 litres of water each year.

According to the EU-required energy rating for household products, the Quooker COMBI is the highest-scoring kitchen boiler with a boiling water function, earning this tank an A-rating for energy consumption.

Plastic reduction: instant chilled and sparkling water

When paired with the Quooker CUBE, your Quooker tap will dispense filtered, chilled and sparkling water on demand, without wasting a drop.

The CUBE sits neatly beneath your sink alongside your Quooker system.

This system significantly reduces or even eliminates the need for single-use plastic bottles and creates new opportunities for healthy, delicious drinks for the whole family.

Sustainable manufacturing

Quooker’s approach to manufacturing is about reducing their CO₂ impact.

For example, they are moving away from gas to use renewable energy and green power for all their facilities. Their headquarters at Ridderkerk, Netherlands holds hundreds of solar panels on its roof, which supplies the bulk of the energy required for production. Quooker are also progressing towards greener transportation for their engineers.

Every new Quooker product undergoes a life cycle assessment (LCA) to understand its environmental impact and enable green-focused adjustments to the design.

Long lifespan and circularity

Quooker are dedicated to both durability and repairability. Their products are designed for a long lifespan of 15 to 20 years.

They are also committed to reducing waste through circularity, for example:

  • Empty CO₂ cylinders for sparkling water within the CUBE can be returned to Quooker free of charge, where they will refill them and prepare them for re-use.
  • Customers can arrange to replace or service a Quooker tank outside their warranty period through the Quooker Swap Service. Instead of a new tank, they will send one that is fully refurbished, at a reduced rate.

Clean drinking water for all

Quooker is committed to making clean drinking water available to those who need it most throughout the world.

Through their Liter for a Liter campaign, they donate a litre of clean drinking water for every litre saved by a Quooker system.

Since 2015, they have helped more than 57,000 people gain access to over four billion litres of water.
