Keeping up the good work – our new workshop in Tonbridge
Constantly moving forward in a positive and sustainable way has always been top of our agenda.
Our move to a fantastic new workshop in Tonbridge means we can continue to deliver exacting craftsmanship for our customers, but now we have even greater flexibility.
The new workshop gives us more space to create bespoke cabinetry and furniture, supported by new machinery, and underpinned by eco-friendly methods and materials.
Space to create
Our old workshop (formerly a chicken shed!) may have oozed “character”, but its smaller scale and sloping ceiling did bring some limitations.
Our new workshop means that we have a much larger, open space to hand build kitchen, study and bedroom cabinetry; as well as to undertake the bespoke furniture projects that are increasingly popular with existing and new customers alike.
Whereas we previously had space to store just three fully assembled kitchens, we can now store at least six. This increased capacity is not only beneficial for working practices, it will also positively impact production efficiency, which is great for our customers.
Greener and cleaner
Having space for more machinery also gives us greater flexibility with the range of materials we can use for our handmade cabinetry.
For example, we now offer Finsa materials, which are very eco-friendly.
Finsa supply wood-based products that are derived through sustainable processes, with a commitment to minimal waste and advanced recycling practices.
We have also installed a specialist wood burning stove for our wood and MDF waste.
The Wood Waste Technology heater unit enables waste material to be burned in an environmentally friendly way. The energy produced is then used to heat the workshop.
In good hands
Following our recent merger with Taylor Design and Build, Ben Taylor is managing our new workshop. We’ll certainly be drawing on his years of experience in designing innovative, bespoke cabinetry, and the fresh ideas he brings to every project.
