Fresh tones: the latest colour trends

Colour is one of the easiest ways to ensure your home reflects your character, as well as the ambience of the room that you’re creating.

This year’s colour trends have been all about calm, natural tones – with an injection of personality.

From kitchens to bedrooms, bathrooms to boot rooms, we want our homes to be functional and beautiful, with accents and details that make them uniquely ours.

Here we look at the top colour trends for 2025, with a spotlight on bespoke cabinetry – where colour is certainly making a comeback.

Rich greens, inspired by nature

Green continues to flourish in its popularity. From muted shades like sage, olive, and moss, to rich, deep forest greens, they bring a sense of serenity and sophistication.

These colours feel fresh and grounding. They are as at home in a kitchen as they are on bedroom or study walls.

The earthy shade matched to Egger Fir Green creates opulence when used for this bespoke bedroom cabinetry. The contrast with the crisp white walls brings a sense of tranquillity.
Farrow & Ball’s Calke Green is the choice for this bespoke home office. It perfectly complements the ‘roasted cocoa’ stained ash, bringing richness and above all, a calming and harmonious feel.

Warm neutrals

Cool greys are taking a back seat, with warm neutrals like mushroom, beige, and greige coming to the fore. These colours add softness and feel welcoming and timeless.

As well as on the walls and for your painted cabinetry, these tones can be brought into your scheme by introducing natural stone or quartz with subtle, natural markings, or though clever use of flooring and accessories.

This elegant handmade kitchen combines the neutral painted shaker cabinetry with the natural tones in the flooring. These are further reflected in the greige velvet of the seating and completed with soft, subtle lighting to give a cosy feel.
In this Scandi-inspired bespoke bathroom, neutral tones are reflected throughout – in the 10mm oak slats that form the built-in cabinetry, the beige tones in the ‘Calacatta Gold’ marble-effect porcelain wall panelling, and the carefully chosen finishes such as natural textured blinds.

Deep blues for a classic feel

Rich blues such as navy, midnight, and smoky teal are enduringly popular. These hues bring a sense elegance and can create a statement, especially when used with intention.

Using a rich blue on the lower cabinetry and feature wall contrasts with the crisp quartz and white cabinetry. It gives a sense of balance and firmly grounds the kitchen island as the hub of this kitchen.
The rich, smoky teal of this handmade cabinetry is set off beautifully by brass accents – blue and brass have always made an excellent partnership. The warmth of the parquet flooring and the natural brick of the chimney breast make the large expanses of blue feel at perfectly at home here.

Fired earth

Inspired by elemental materials, earthy tones such as terracotta, burnt sienna, and clay bring warmth to interior spaces. They work equally well in both character and modern settings, and can be very practical when used in areas of the home with high footfall.

For this bespoke boot room, the rich, warm shade of Paprika is as practical as it is beautiful, especially when extended to the tongue and groove panelling and contrasted with the natural oak shelving and seating.

Charcoal and soft black

For those who favour a sleek, modern look, charcoal and soft black are standout choices in 2025. These colours add drama without feeling too harsh, and can create the perfect balance to contrasting materials.

The charcoal grey of this shaker cabinetry is mirrored in the soft grey tones that weave through the Calacatta ‘Oro’ quartz waterfall countertop. The pairing of the Crittall style doors and windows with the island seating give an urban feel.
Rich charcoal walls work perfectly for this kitchen diner, the soft black ceiling panels feel cocooning and cosy, with the statement lighting in natural metals bringing warmth.

Two-tone colour pairings

Two-tone colour schemes are always a strong trend, especially in kitchens where the heart of the home is often the perfect canvas to imprint your personal stamp.

Parisien Blue gloss cabinetry brings balance to the pop of Sunshine Yellow in this Italian-inspired kitchen, which was as deeply personal a project as is possible to imagine.

In contrast, the enduring, classic combination of black and white (with subtle shades of pale grey) create order and calm in this modern kitchen.
