Designed around you
Our design process is customised to your requirements, whether you’re renovating your kitchen or simply installing a new bookcase.
Regardless of the project size, we’ll always ensure a smooth journey and a perfect outcome for you and your home.
Ideas and inspiration
When it comes to making changes in your home, the first steps can be daunting, so we make them easy for you.
We start by having an initial conversation about your project, either at our showroom in Badgers Mount or at your home. Together we’ll discuss your initial ideas and your ‘wish list’.
We’ll then have a more detailed conversation about your preferred materials, door styles, colours, finishes, worktops and appliances.
This gives us an early impression of the direction the design should take. It’s our starting point to build on.
Initial plans
We take measurements on site (or use your architect’s plans if available) to get your design underway. It takes us around two weeks to complete the initial design. We will provide you with a detailed plan and 3D elevations, as well as a full, itemised quotation.
This provides us with a base to develop from.
Design evolution
We can revisit the design and make as many adjustments as you require to achieve your perfect plan; we offer a huge amount of flexibility. The most important part of the whole process is your involvement, working with us to take the design forward.
Measure twice, cut once
Once the design is agreed, we’ll reconfirm all the measurements on site, as well as triple checking any building work details (if we are carrying out this element of the project for you). Once we are confident everything is complete and accurate, we process your order.
If this is part of a larger building project or you have your own team to ‘prep’ the space, we’ll liaise with your builders and tradesmen throughout the work. We’ll produce a detailed service diagram for them, to ensure a faultless preparation of the space prior to our installation.
Installation
We then build and assemble the joinery in our workshop. We deliver the pieces and our team will carry out a full installation for you. A normal kitchen installation will take around two weeks.
Of course, things don’t always go to plan! We will address any snags or imperfections during the installation to ensure only the highest quality finish.
Beyond the project’s completion, we have an unsurpassed aftersales service and ongoing support. We want you to be happy with your home now and for years to come.
Aftersales care
We are proud of what we do here at Great British Kitchens & Interiors, so we endeavour to keep our customers happy and our products in great working order.
When we install your new kitchen, bedroom, study or bespoke furniture, we make every effort to undertake any snagging prior to completion. We will continue to work with you until you are completely happy.
But our work doesn’t stop there…
Ongoing care for hardworking cabinetry
With kitchens being the heart of every home, they are subject to excessive use day in, day out. So, they need looking after, which can mean tweaking and checking over once in a while.
Even with other rooms, which may not suffer the same rigours of family life, we want to ensure that everything we install continues to serve you perfectly.
Our maintenance service
Perhaps something isn’t sitting right anymore and you want us to take a look at it. Or maybe you are thinking of a change and want to discuss your options.
We always offer free expert advice, and provide the best solutions to any problems you may have.
Whether it’s a quick visit to tighten up some hinges and adjust some drawers or doors, or to carry out a more comprehensive overhaul of ageing hinges, runners and handles; we always ensure that our bespoke kitchens remain in tip-top condition.
Please note – remedial work that doesn’t fall within our guarantee/warranty policy is chargeable at £80.00+VAT (£96 incl. VAT) per hour/per man, plus the addition of any materials necessary to complete the work.
Travelling to and from site is included in the time charged so please allow for this. (For example, if you live 30 minutes from our workshop in Tonbridge, then please add one hour for travel to and from site.) All prices are subject to VAT.
