Kitchen transformations – before and after

Over the years we’ve transformed many hundreds of kitchens.

Sometimes the changes are dramatic.

Sometimes they are smaller enhancements.

But they always improve the appearance of the room and the client’s pleasure in using it.

Here are just a few examples of the kitchen transformations we’ve accomplished.

Full kitchen refurbishment

These homeowners wished to get rid of their dark wood, old fashioned kitchen. They wanted a design which better matched their taste and increased storage space.

We completely transformed the room. The new kitchen still retains traditional touches, such as the shaker style doors, but is brought right up to date with a grey and white colour scheme.

Reconfiguring the cabinets has provided much more storage space to get rid of clutter. And the small breakfast bar unites the seating area with the rest of the room.

Bring in the blue!

Here, our client was still very happy with the layout and practicalities of their kitchen. However, they’d fallen out of love with the natural wood of the cabinets.

Seeking a more contemporary look, the client chose a deep blue colour. Not only did this modernise the style of their kitchen at a relatively low cost, it also created a striking contrast with the white worksurfaces and floor.

From tired traditional to modern chic

There was no room for half measures in this kitchen transformation. The client wanted to fully refurbish the slightly outdated, natural wood kitchen with a sleek, modern design.

We completely gutted the room and created the kitchen from scratch. Reconfiguring the layout provided more space for cooking, storage and dining.

The result is a strikingly contemporary kitchen with a spacious feel.

Kitchen island transformation

In this kitchen, the client was still very happy with the overall style but wanted to change the island from a casual ‘bar’ design to create a more substantial dining area. In remodelling the island we also extended it, giving them more space to cook and eat.

We perfectly matched the original black American walnut cabinets and white Corian worktops. To add further depth of texture we also incorporated a “leather” granite countertop for the island extension.

Showroom transformation

OK, this one is a bit of a cheat, because it’s our showroom! But it’s still a great example of how a kitchen can be completely transformed while retaining the same structure and layout.

Our original maple wood design had had its day, so we switched it for a more contemporary, painted look. The cabinet doors have all been updated, as has the flooring. The overhead extraction fan has gone, thanks to introducing BORA hobs which have extraction systems in-built. The addition of the BORA hobs also meant that we could get rid of the standalone teppanyaki grill, as these are also available with the BORA cooktops.
