Sustainable forestry

We are committed to promoting sustainable forestry through our material choices.

Working practices

We are adopting greener working practices from our workshop to our showroom.

Environmental impact

We take care to minimise our environmental impact, whilst maintaining quality.

Carefully selecting the timber we use for your home

By replanting trees, sustainable forestry ensures that more oxygen-emitting woodlands are created every year.

This is why we give priority to the processing of wood from certified forests:

  • All the wood we use comes from responsibly managed forests, certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, or from recycled material.
  • Up to 30% of the wood used in our carcasses is recycled. We do not use any timbers listed by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species.
  • All wood purchased is monitored with a strict control process within the scope of the UK Timber and FLEGT regulations, and other forest certification systems.

Greener, cleaner working practices

Our environmental impact is always front of mind

At our showroom

We have installed solar panels on the roof to generate as much sustainable energy as we can to power our showroom.

In addition, we have an electric car charging point in our car park.

At our workshop

We have installed a specialist wood burning stove for our wood and MDF waste. The heater unit burns in an environmentally friendly way, and the energy produced is used to heat the workshop.

Choice of materials

We now offer eco-friendly Finsa materials. Finsa supply wood-based products that are derived through sustainable processes, with a commitment to minimal waste and advanced recycling practices.

All our cabinetry and furniture paints are water-based. We only use paints which offer high durability to stand the test of time, combined with minimal environmental impact.

Cabinetry recycling

We want to support our customers when they are planning to replace or upgrade their kitchen, bedroom, study, or any other cabinetry. But we are also aware of the waste that is inevitably generated.

That’s why we recommend schemes such as Rehome, which provides a marketplace for homeowners when selling second hand kitchens and other pre-installed cabinetry.
