A passion for craftsmanship
Established in 1984 by Vince Hone, Great British Kitchens & Interiors is a family owned and managed business based at Orchard Barn, Badgers Mount.
As a trained a cabinet maker, Vince decided early in his career that he would much rather design and make his own cabinetry instead of relying on anyone else. This passion for his trade led to him opening our first shop above the ‘framers’ on Tile Farm Road, Tubbenden Lane, Orpington.
Our handmade history
1987
Vince opens our first showroom on Tile Farm Road, Orpington.
1995
We move to our current, spacious showroom at Orchard Barn.
2010
Our handmade cabinetry expands beyond kitchens, to bedrooms and studies.
2015
Vince’s son, Jack Hone joins the business as Kitchen Designer.
2017
A total refurbishment of our Orchard Barn showroom means we can showcase a greater variety of bespoke furniture.
2022
We move our workshop to Tonbridge, giving us more space to create supported by new machinery and eco-friendly practices.
2023
Merger with Taylor Design & Build.
Inventive product design
Since our relocation to Orchard Barn in 1995, we have continued to grow, and strive to deliver the absolute best that we can; in design and product.
Together with Vince, his son Jack now leads our design team driven by the belief that we are designing better spaces for our clients in which to cook, entertain, work and relax.
Our state-of-the-art workshop in Tonbridge means that we have a large, open space to hand build kitchen, study and bedroom cabinetry; as well as undertake further bespoke furniture projects.

We are confident that each member of the business puts our clients first and that’s why we are so committed to every project.
Jeremy, our lead fitter, was trained from 14 years old by his father John, one of our original workshop team. Jeremy knows everything that there is to know about kitchens!
In early 2023, we merged with well-established bespoke carpentry business, Taylor Design & Build. This merger felt very much like a natural extension to our family business.
Our kitchen designer, Jack, and Ben Taylor of Taylor Design & Build, have been firm friends since childhood; they are thrilled to be bringing together their passion for design and craftsmanship.
So, the service you receive is very much from our family, to your family.
