Mixing Traditional & Modern

Kitchens, Bedrooms & Studies - Mixing traditional and modern materials for a timeless result

Great British Interiors are a truly bespoke designer and manufacturer of fitted furniture in both traditional and contemporary styles for all the rooms of your house, and have been developing, designing and installing traditionally made solid wood kitchens and stunning furniture for over 27 years.

As the market has evolved and customer preferences for modern kitchens has shifted more and more towards use of different materials for construction we have developed ranges of solid wood kitchens, gloss kitchens and mixed finishes specifically to satisfy that aesthetic. By combining modern and traditional materials, and employing the best traditional skills and modern accessories to create our kitchens, we are able to produce truly bespoke, contemporary schemes which sit at the cutting edge of design and have a timeless quality which will not date in a short space of time

Solid blocks of colour, contrasting tones, textures and shades all work to offer genuinely individual and stunning results to suit personal tastes, and every client can have a perfectly unique, genuinely bespoke kitchen designed for them. Using hi gloss acrylic, solid wood and specialist veneers for cabinets, combined with contrasting textures and materials such as Parapan, Corian, quartz, granite and coloured glass for worktops, wall cladding and furniture – all genuinely bespoke and handmade to fit, and installed by our own skilled installation teams - we are producing more and more truly bespoke designer kitchens which the owners will live with and continue to enjoy for many years.

Illustrations show a flat walnut veneered door and cladding combined with black gloss acrylic doors and cream quartz worksurfaces. The curved island with a shaped glass over-bar and gloss cream polished porcelain floor tiles result in a room with plenty of ‘wow’, light and space. A circular drum pedestal table was made at our own workshops to complete the scheme.

Examples of oak, maple and walnut in natural and gloss lacquer finishes combined with satin paint and hi-gloss acrylic colours are increasingly popular kitchen finishes and examples of these can be seen at our Kent (Sevenoaks)
