Learn and share - GB Interiors spend a day with TV Masterchef John Torode

08 - December 2015

john-torode-tv-masterchefGreat British Interiors were pleased to be amongst a selected group of dealers from the UK and Ireland recently invited by Quooker, the inventor of the original 100°C boiling water tap to attend an exclusive masterclass with celebrity chef John Torode at the Housekeeping Institute Cookery School in London’s Soho. The event was hosted as a thank you for the support and partnership given by the dealers over 2015.

Recipes for the class included John’s hot bacon and gruyere breakfast bread, roast chicken made to his grandmother’s secret recipe and an ingeniously simple and delicious chocolate ice-cream amoretti dessert.

The demonstration focussed on ways to turn easily sourced ingredients into inspired and delicious dishes that can also be passed on to family and friends to practise at home.

vince-hone-masterclass Vince Hone, our own intrepid student of cooking plunged fearlessly into the creation of the breakfast bread loaf and was later rewarded with a tasty looking bake, along with John’s smile of approval.

As so much delicious food was prepared the group decided in the spirit of Christmas to share the bounty with nearby Samaritans volunteers, helping to keep them happy and well fed whilst manning the helplines.

Stephen Johnson, Managing Director, Quooker UK commented - “We’re keen to acknowledge our dealers as they are vital to our business and a key route to market for us. Our entire Nordic range, which includes the Fusion and TwinTaps is exclusive to our showroom dealers and we value the strong partnerships that we have been able to develop with them. It was a really fun day and our way of saying thank you.”

GB Interiors certainly had a lot of fun and Vince would like to thank both Quooker UK and John Torode for hosting a great event.

Our show kitchens at the Barn include a range of working Quooker boiling water taps that we are happy to demonstrate. Drop by soon and let us show you the beauty of a handmade kitchen.
